Cameroun- Monitoring and evaluation system established by the NSC

The Example of Cameroon
Cameroon designed an NSDS covering the five-year period 2009-2013. The NSDS establishes a monitoring and evaluation system supervised by the National Statistical Council (NSC) which meets regularly. Performance indicators were defined which measure the achievement of expected results. Each year, the National Statistical Institute which serves as technical secretariat to the NSC prepares a progress report on NSDS implementation. Reports are available for 2009, 2010, and 2011. Each report covers the following topics: available resources (legal and administrative environment, human resources, material resources, financial means); the main results achieved under the seven (7) selected strategic axes; the activities undertaken under the strategic axes. A summary table of results achieved by strategic axis is also presented, and a list of publications and statistical outputs produced during the year is available in annex. Reports are reviewed and approved by the NSC and are printed and disseminated widely.
